Coverage is decided before monetisation is considered

Products enter the dataset because they belong in a reference for someone planning a sauna. Whether we can earn a commission on a product is looked up afterwards, and it has never removed a product or added one.

The clearest evidence is in the data itself: 18 of the brands documented here have no affiliate programme we could verify at all. That includes the two most-represented heater brands in the dataset. If commercial reach drove coverage, those brands would be thin or missing. Instead they are the backbone of the site, and their pages link straight to the manufacturer.

Ordering and filtering ignore commercial status

No list on this site is sorted by commission, rate, or partner status. Directory ordering is alphabetical or numeric on a published specification. Filters act only on transcribed manufacturer data. There is no promoted placement, no sponsored slot, and nothing on a product card that reflects whether we can be paid for it.

The calculator is not a sales funnel

The sizing calculator implements the published methods of the manufacturers themselves and reports what they return, including where they disagree with each other. Its output is not weighted toward monetised models, and it will happily point you at a heater we earn nothing from. Where two manufacturers’ own methods diverge, we show the spread rather than resolving it toward any particular product.

We publish findings that cost us money

A directory that only ever says flattering things about products it sells is an advertisement. Several of the most prominent features of this site are unflattering to products we can earn from:

  • The source conflicts index documents 25 cases where a manufacturer contradicts itself, including brands we are paid on.
  • Infrared pages state plainly when a “low EMF” claim has no published third-party report, and when a report’s actual scope is narrower than the marketing that cites it.
  • Kit pages say when a manufacturer will not tell you which heater is in the box.
  • Brand pages state when a manufacturer publishes no breaker size for any of its heaters.

What we do not claim

We have not tested these products. We do not publish prices, star ratings, review counts, availability, or performance claims, and we do not present manufacturer marketing as an independent finding. Where we quote a manufacturer’s claim, it is marked as a quotation and linked to its source.

Safety limits on our content

We do not publish wire sizes, conductor-capacity tables, or DIY electrical instructions. When a question crosses into installation design, our answer is to name the document and the professional that can answer it. Being useful stops at the point where being wrong is dangerous.
